SAWC is a cooperative in rural Clackamas County that provides water to 90 households. Co-op members voluntarily join together for mutual benefit for the wholesale purchase of water from the City of Sandy.
Water is obtained from the 102 square-mile protected Bull Run watershed which collects water from rain and snowmelt that flows to the Bull Run River and its tributaries. The river drains into two reservoirs, where more than 17 billion gallons are stored. The City of Sandy obtains this water through an agreement with the Portland Water Bureau.
