Skyview Acres Water Company (SAWC) is located in a rural, unincorporated portion of Clackamas County, Oregon. As individuals, residents could not access public water supplies, so SAWC is organized to do so for its members.

The sole activity and purpose of Skyview Acres Water Company is to obtain and distribute water, currently purchased from the city of Sandy, to SAWC members. Since incorporating in 2001 as a cooperative for the mutual benefit of members in obtaining water service, SAWC has provided water to co-op members, currently 90 households. Our activities are carried out by volunteers and independent contractors. Providing water to SAWC members accounts for 100% of time and activities of SAWC.
SAWC is funded entirely by co-op members in the form of water volume usage fees, membership fees, and water meter replacement fees. Fees are established sufficient to pay for purchase of water, maintain the delivery system, stay in conformance with applicable water provider regulations, and to anticipate future expenses. Income is used solely for paying expenses of providing water, or reserved for future losses and expenses.
Membership is based on ownership of real property that receives water from a co-op owned water meter, and payment of a monthly base membership fee. Membership is voluntary. Membership votes are based on one vote per co-op owned water meter. There are currently 89 voting members.
All SAWC receipts represent payments from co-op members for services performed or to be performed for co-op members; the service is providing water. SAWC members pay a water usage fee based on the volume of water used by that member.
SAWC provides water to 89 households that would not otherwise have access to water except by private well. Co-op members voluntarily join together for the mutual benefit of contract purchase of water from a main water line owned by the city of Sandy.
Each co-op membership has one vote in electing the governing Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is responsible for the day to day operation of the system, setting rates and charges, planning and regulatory compliance for the system. An annual membership meeting is held each September where the general membership selects directors and addresses any business that is subject to a vote of the membership.
